NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 12, 2012) – Educational Services of America (ESA) has promoted Kevin Mitchell to vice president of finance and development. ESA is the nation’s leading provider of K-12 alternative and special education schools and programs for students who are at risk of dropping out and for students with special needs.
Mitchell joined ESA in 2004, and most recently served as ESA’s director of finance and development. He is responsible for forecasting financial performance of ESA’s two divisions, Ombudsman Educational Services and Spectrum Center Schools and Programs and serves key roles in banking relations and mergers and acquisitions.
Mitchell graduated with a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Mississippi. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, a member of the CFA Society of Nashville and a member of ESA’s executive management team.
ESA’s mission is to provide personalized, evidence-based educational services for non-traditional learners in collaboration with families and public school districts.
To fulfill this mission, ESA operates two strategic service divisions: Spectrum Center Schools and Programs, which partners with public schools to provide individualized services for students with challenging educational and behavioral needs such as autism, emotional disturbance and developmental delay; and Ombudsman Educational Services, which provides alternative education programs for dropout prevention and credit recovery.
