A military spouse and a parent of a child with autism, Reyes brings both personal and professional experience to EAP. She will be responsible for the management of the Tampa clinic operations, including the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), and serve as military and community liaison.
“Julie’s personal experience as a military spouse and parent of a child with autism, coupled with her professional behavioral training, give her a unique understanding of the advocacy, education and support that benefit children who have autism and their families,” said EAP co-founder Ann Eldridge.
An active volunteer in both the military and local communities, Reyes joined Autism Speaks as a co-chair of the Walk Now for Autism Speaks Tampa Bay. Attendance at the walk has increased by 1,500 people in the two years Reyes has served as co-chair and the 2013 walk raised more than $285,000.
