ChanceLight’s instructional and behavioral practices establish a safe, trusting place for students, so district goals are met and students achieve their individual accomplishments.
For more than 45 years, ChanceLight has worked alongside districts to address immediate needs and adapt to the ever-changing educational landscape.
ChanceLight Education programs are offered in multiple formats:
Special Education:
ChanceLight Education has extensive experience teaching students ages 3-25 with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) the skills they need to reduce challenging behaviors and increase skills acquisition. We partner with more than 200 districts annually to ensure they remain in IEP compliance and/or deliver compensatory services.
Alternative Education:
11.2% of youth in the United States are disconnected- neither in school nor working. A period of disconnection as a young person can have profound effects on earnings, employment, homeownership, and health that last into one’s thirties (A Decade Undone).
ChanceLight Education excels in removing barriers and reconnecting disconnected youth through the power of education. Whether it’s improving graduation rates or strengthening school climate, ChanceLight has an alternative education solution to address a school district’s priorities and help students achieve individual accomplishments. Since 1975, ChanceLight Education has helped more than 240,000 students reconnect or stay connected to school and graduate.
Catalog of Services
ChanceLight has exceptional expertise in addressing discrete issues school districts face. We provide a catalog of services to address specific skills gaps and to support students’ education, mental health and well-being, and school participation.
School Choice
ChanceLight operates four private schools and two post-secondary programs in Florida. ChanceLight’s Atlantis Academies provide a comprehensive education program for students in grades K-12 (up to age 22) tailored to meet the unique learning needs of each student. Our L.I.F.E. programs in Coral Springs and Miami provide young adults with varying abilities over age 18 the skills to live more independently at home and in the workplace.
We also operate Ombudsman Charter alternative education highschools in Arizona. Students can enroll in any of our locations at any time and begin earning credits right away. Because charter schools are funded by the state, tuition is always FREE. Microsoft Education has recognized Ombudsman Charter schools as either Microsoft Incubator Schools or a Microsoft Showcase School.
