Ombudsman by the Numbers
Ombudsman Educational Services is a ChanceLight® company. Ombudsman provides alternative education programs for students in grades K-12 who have one or more risk factors preventing them from being successful in a traditional school setting. Our education programs are customized to meet the needs of student and referring district.
Since 1975, Ombudsman Educational Services has educated more than 250,000 students and introduced them to academic successes and to all the opportunities a high school diploma provides.
Ombudsman programs meet students’ individual needs and learning styles.
That’s why Ombudsman is such a great fit for so many different types of students. Ombudsman offers academic, social and behavioral support so students are promoted or earn their high school diplomas and are prepared to make positive choices about the future.
Ombudsman provides a fresh start in a supportive learning environment.
Whatever circumstances may have altered a student’s path to graduation, we have the solution to get them back on track and take it all the way to the finish line. Not only can our alternative education program offer solutions to meet every student’s needs, but we also provide a welcoming, uplifting academic environment with educators who focus on helping students build a brighter future without judgment on the past.
Ombudsman programs offer flexibility to meet students where they are.
A flexible schedule means students don’t have to choose between life or work responsibilities and school. We understand the need for scheduling flexibility, and how important it is to know that administrators and teachers respect that students have responsibilities outside of school.
Ombudsman Accreditation
It’s important to validate that our programs are not only meeting our internal expectations, but that they are meeting external quality standards. The accreditation cycle offers an independent formal process for continuous improvement. Ombudsman is nationally accredited by Cognia (formerly AdvancED), the unified organization of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). In addition, the Ombudsman organization and all of Ombudsman’s Northeast and New England schools are regionally accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools – Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS).
